Combating Inflammation with Food

There are so many foods out in the world that will cause inflammation, or at the very least, affect the severity. A diet high in heart healthy fats, lean protein, complex carbohydrates, and low in saturated fat and sodium will help reduce or eliminate inflammation caused by dietary sources.

I am a 20+ year RDN with experience in a variety of fields focusing on public health. I have worked with the IDD population, mental health, medically compromised children, high risk pregnancy and infants, and as a community resources liaison for high risk children living at home. I got my BS in Food and Nutrition from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1998 and completed my Masters in Public Health in 2001. My emphasis was on Nutrition Planning and Programming which has served me well in my career in Public Health agencies and programs. I love to cook, read, ride my bike, camp, and dance in hip hop cardio classes.
